In 2017, the Indonesian Ulema Council issued a da'wah guidebook that was intended to be a moral standard for preachers in Indonesia. This literature review is an effort to find out whether the dimension of sharia mqasid values exists in the formulation of the da'wah orientation of the Indonesian Ulema Council. Normative-philosophical methods are used in this study. The concept of modern sharia maqasid developed by Jasser Auda serves as the basis for the analysis of this research. The results of the study show that the formulation of the da'wah orientation of the Indonesian Ulema Council contains elements of sharia maqasid values. Hifz din and hifz nafs form the personality of religious-humanist Muslims, hifz waton forms the personality of nationalist and pluralist Muslims, and hifz ummah forms the personality of prosperous and harmonious Muslims. This research shows that the value of sharia maqasid can serve as the basis for the values, methods, and paradigms of Islamic da'wah in a multicultural society. This study has not studied the concrete steps taken by the Indonesian Ulema Council to support da'wah activities in Indonesia in accordance with the various da'wah orientations that it has set.
2025-01-31T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Taqwatul Uliyahhttps://wsj.westscience-press.com/index.php/wsiss/article/view/1611Implementation of Fatwa DSN-MUI as a Basis for Regulation in Islamic Finance in Indonesia2025-01-20T04:02:05+00:00Loso Judijantolosojudijantobumn@gmail.comMega Ilhamiwatimega83.teyze@iaincurup.ac.idRais Abdullahrais.abdullah@feb.unmul.ac.idIndah Winarninengindahwinarni@gmail.comKMT Lasmiatunlasmiatunmsi@gmail.com
This study examines the implementation of Fatwas issued by the National Sharia Council-Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI) as a foundational regulatory framework for Islamic finance in Indonesia. Through a literature review analysis, the research explores the role of these Fatwas in shaping Sharia-compliant financial practices, their integration into regulatory frameworks, and the challenges associated with their application. Key findings highlight the dual role of DSN-MUI Fatwas as theological and regulatory tools, their contribution to ensuring Sharia compliance, and the need for standardized enforcement mechanisms. Drawing lessons from global practices, this study emphasizes the importance of institutional capacity and collaboration in enhancing the effectiveness of DSN-MUI Fatwas. These insights provide a valuable roadmap for advancing Islamic finance in Indonesia, fostering alignment between religious principles and regulatory frameworks.
2025-01-31T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Loso Judijanto, Mega Ilhamiwati, Rais Abdullahhttps://wsj.westscience-press.com/index.php/wsiss/article/view/1612ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) Integration in Global Islamic Finance2025-01-20T04:00:53+00:00Loso Judijantolosojudijantobumn@gmail.comAhmad Iqbal Fathonifathoniiqbal069@gamil.comDiah Fauziahdifauziahdiah@gmail.comKMT Lasmiatunlasmiatunmsi@gmail.comMuhammad Idris Ashariidristhepurple@gmail.com
ESG integration is emerging as a game-changing influence on the world's financial systems with wide-ranging consequences for the Islamic finance industry. This research, therefore, has been designed to reach an objective that presents compatibility, challenges, and opportunities concerning ESG adoption in Islamic finance through a systematic review of 22 peer-reviewed manuscripts indexed in the Scopus database. The findings identify a good coincidence between ESG best practices and Sharia principles, as both witness vital echoes on ethical behavior, social development, and sustainability. Good harmony has been noted, though regulatory disparity, weak frameworks, and lack of awareness stand in the way. Green sukuk and international collaboration are promising pathways for the arising ESG issues. This would provide actionable insights for policymakers and financial institutions so that sustainability and ethical value creation can be encouraged at large, while positioning Islamic finance as a world leader in sustainable finance.
2025-01-31T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Loso Judijanto, Ahmad Iqbal Fathoni, Diah Fauziahhttps://wsj.westscience-press.com/index.php/wsiss/article/view/1613Integration of Islamic Values in STEM Teaching (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)2025-01-20T03:59:52+00:00Loso Judijantolosojudijantobumn@gmail.comYusniar Yusniaryusniaryuzie@yahoo.co.id
The integration of Islamic values into the learning of STEM subjects aims to align modern education with ethical and spiritual principles for holistic learning experiences. This study explores the critical role of ulama (Islamic scholars) in mitigating such conflicts through qualitative analysis involving four prominent ulama. Data were collected via in-depth interviews and analyzed using NVIVO software to identify key themes and strategies. The findings reveal that ulama play a pivotal role in promoting peace and tolerance through preventive religious teachings, mediation in disputes, community engagement, and counter-radicalization efforts. Despite facing challenges such as resistance from radical groups and limited resources, their contributions are instrumental in fostering socio-religious harmony.
